Free Web Hosting?

Hi guys

i%26#039;m looking for some free web hosting, i made all my pages with microsoft publisher and saved them as html files,

i would like a web hoster where i can select some of the files and put a password on them!

do i do that on publisher or dose the hoster do it!

if i can do it on publisher please tell me

or if i have to do it using my web host service what is a good free web host that will allow me to put a password on selected pages!

http://www.freewebs.com - this place has the least amount of advertising, just a link to themselves at the bottom of each page. Why do you need password protection? I am not sure about password protection of a subdirectory or file, but it would be at the host level. I think I saw something about passwords, but it may be you need the paid hosting instead of the free hosting to get this feature. I%26#039;ve never had need to password protect anything. You could simply create a subdirectory and put the pages there and then provide the fully qualified URL to each file to the people you want to have it. Pages not explicitly referenced in the INDEX file are never %26quot;seen%26quot; by a browser. No one can %26quot;find%26quot; anything else about your pages if you have a INDEX.HTML file as the main page of your site.

If you are serious about websites either for personal or your business, don%26#039;t go to free web hosting as they are usually not reliable and you may end up losing all your hard work. Free web hosts usually put advertisements on your websites and it could be annoying.

If you like to create websites (usually you will end up more than 1 website, I got more than 100 websites in about 6 months%26#039; time), go for multiple web hosting services where you could host all your websites in one account.

Other Replys:I would suggest using a paid webhost. If you would be using http://www.radixhosting.com you%26#039;d have access to a control panel, where you would be able to set passwords for directories. They also offer great support for beginner questions like yours. Good luck!
