My question is about web pages. do people make money when people view their web pages?

how are people, besides your friends, supposed to know that you have a web page? what%26#039;s the purpose of having one? do you make money when someone views your page? why are people interested in how many HITS they get on their web sight? I really don%26#039;t understand any of this stuff about web pages and web hosting. could someone please explain it to me. thanks so much for your time.

Basically what happens is advertisers want to sell their products or services to the public. The more people they can get to view their advertising the more chances they have to convince somebody to buy something from them or use their services. On the internet it is usually products.

These advertisers are looking for websites which attract a lot of people. The more people go to certain sites the more attractive that site looks to put their advertisments on it. A good website will have advertisers knocking on their doors to place ads for potential buyers to see, or to place links to their own sites which is even better. If it is a link it costs more to place it there.

Advertising on the web is exploding. As millions of potential consumers from around the world visit these good sites it is a gold mine for advertisers. Advertising in a local paper only reaches those readers in that particular area. Advertisements in popular magazines get more people seeing them in a larger area, but it is still a limited form of advertising compared to television ads. Advertisers see the web as a huge market which consists of not just their own country but all the countried around the world.

So, the internet has become the last frontier of advertising. Billions of people log onto computers every single day. Even during the work day individuals are logging onto the net and seeing these well placed ads. The more exposure an ad can get the more likely somebody will decide to give that product or sevice a try. People are even selling sugery over the net, like cosmetic surgerys. There are pages filled with before and after shots of women and men who have under gone tummy tucks, breast lifts and augmentation, face lifts, liposuction, etc.

When an individual or a group puts together a website which attracts a lot of viewers, advertisers want to place their ads on those sites. They pay a premium upfront in some cases when the site is a well known viewed one. A %26quot;hit%26quot; is when one person logs onto a particular website. Each time somebody views the website it is considered a %26quot;hit%26quot; regardless of how long or short a time the person is on that particular page.

So, if a person or group is imaginitive enough to come up with a cool site that attracts a lot of people, advertisers line up to give them money to place their ads on it. They get paid in a variety of ways. Two of the most common are usually combined when it comes to a very good site. An example of a %26quot;hot%26quot; site which advertisers are throwing money at the creators, is the new site in which women (men too) can watch healthy, well porportioned, muscular and handsome men take their clothing off. Yep, that site is getting several million %26quot;hits%26quot; a day. So, now the advertisers are wanting to place ads on this site. This is an established hot site and so they will have to pay a hefty premium to first place the ad and then pay an additional fee for each %26quot;hit%26quot; on that site regardless of how long the %26quot;hit%26quot; was. Lets say an advertiser pays ten cents per hit on the site for their ad to stay placed on that site. Lets say four million people %26quot;hit%26quot; the site daily. That comes out to about $400.000.00 a DAY to the owners of that site. That is just from ONE advertiser!! Now, this is a large estimate. Lets say only 500,000 hit the site daily and only a a nickle is paid for each hit. That comes out to $25,000.00 a day. A month would garner that site $750,000.00 monthly. From one advertiser. Now, depending on the size of the ad, if there is a link to the advertisers own site, and how many pages it is on will determine how much the website owners can charge for an advertiser placing this ad on their site.

So, you can see that smart, visionary and imaginitive individuals can and do make a darn good living off selling advertisment spots to companies who wish to advertise their products and services. This site of men taking off their clothing, which is basically an online strip joint has blasted onto the radar of the world in a blink of an eye. This is the most reacent creation which is garnering a huge revenue of income to the creaters. Now, add in a %26quot;subscription%26quot; fee for joining and having the ability to view as many strippers as often as you want, depending on the package subsription purchased of course and you add anohter huge amount on top of advertisement dollars. Most sites just offer their wares for free to the public, but once in a while somebody comes up with such an outstanding website they can charge at both ends. They can charge their viewers and the advertisers. Pure genious don%26#039;t you think?

There is many sites which provide free content while makeing a very good living charging advertisers for placing ads. It is also filled to brimming wiht ads. This site is making its creaters a lot of money, and they are not charging those who wish to view it a cent. This site wouldn%26#039;t work if they charged to use it. The simplicity is that the authors find all types of stuff people of all types might be interested in knowing about and writes it up in easy to understand format and puts in on the website. The material is updated as needed with new items added contenually. I applaud these folks for creativity.
